Construction and Materials Powerhouses Consolidate Businesses and Launch New Name
Worcester, Pennsylvania – Three Mid-Atlantic companies known for materials production and heavy civil construction management and implementation have combined to make the largest organization of its kind in the region.
The companies – American Infrastructure, Allan A. Myers and Independence Construction Materials – are consolidating under one name, Allan Myers, reflective of the original father and son team that founded the company more than 75 years ago.
“We’re really just formalizing something that has already happened naturally through doing business,” said CEO and Chairman Ross Myers, who is also grandson of the company founder. “These three entities have been operating as one for some time now, gaining efficiencies to take on the most complex and challenging projects.”
Allan Myers has been responsible for creating the roads, bridges, treatment plants, residential and commercial developments and pipelines that connect communities to services, clean water and each other. Unique examples of their work across the Mid-Atlantic region include:
- Jersey Shore Pump Station
- Argonne Drive Bridge (Baltimore)
- I-95 paving (Va.)
- PA Turnpike Interchange (Philadelphia)
- Brandywine Water Filtration Plant (Wilmington, De.)
- Montebello Underground Reservoir (Baltimore)
Together, the company will continue to employ more than 2,000 and will have on-the-ground projects in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
“This move is going to take us to the next level,” said Myers. “As one newly integrated company we’re positioned to go after projects of increasingly large size and scope. This is good news for an industry rapidly growing after a stagnant period.”
